Benidorm Fest 2024: Lineup, tickets and how to get there

The Benidorm Fest is a musical event organised by RTVE (Spain’s national TV), whose aim is to select the artist and song that will represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest. The selection consists of three galas: two semi-finals and a final, in which both the public and an expert jury will choose the Spaniard representative for the festival each year.

After the success of the first two editions, Benidorm Fest 2024 is back and better than ever. This edition will feature 16 -not 18- great performers competing for a ticket to Malmö 2024.

When is Benidorm Fest 2024?

Benidorm Fest 2024 will be held from 28th January to 3th February at Palau d’Esports L’Illa in Benidorm. The festival will take place on four different days: Sunday 28th January will be the opening gala, Tuesday 30th January the first semi-final, Thursday 1st February the second semi-final and Saturday 3rd February the grand final.

The festival can be followed on TV. The two semi-finals will be broadcast at 22:30 on RTVE La 1, while the grand final will be broadcast at 22:00 (local time).

Among this year’s innovations was the implementation of a music camp in September 2023, which sought to encourage the creation of new songs, with the participation of both national and international composers. This camp did not directly influence the selection of songs for Benidorm Fest, but it did contribute to creative development in general.

The artists will perform their songs in the festival, with the aim of winning and representing Spain at Eurovision 2024.

Another novelty of this edition is that TVE will control only 15% of the rights to the winning song, thus seeking to promote Benidorm Fest not only as a competition, but also as a showcase for talent and musical works.

Festival tickets

Benidorm Fest 2024 has put 3,000 tickets on sale, 1,000 for each gala, so that Eurofans can attend as audience. Tickets to enjoy this Spanish Eurovision pre-selection can be purchased at the new festival website, tiendabenidormfest.com. The price of the tickets does not vary much, they cost:

  • Semi-finals: 30€
  • Final: 40€

Unfortunately, almost all tickets are already sold out. However, there will be large screens at various locations in Benidorm so that everyone can enjoy the performances of the festival.

Voting

For the 2024 edition the same voting system as last year will be maintained. The winner will be chosen 50% by the vote of the professional jury (25% national and 25% international) and 50% by the vote of the public (divided into 25% for the televote and 25% for a demoscopic jury).

Viewers who want to support their favourite artist have to send an SMS or call in during the semi-finals and the final. But be aware that the lines will only be open for about 15 minutes after all the artists have performed.
