How to get from Mallorca to Menorca: Best routes

How to get from Mallorca to Menorca

You have two options for getting from one island to the other: you can take a plane or go by ferry via the different ports on the islands.

By plane

This is the quickest way to get from Mallorca to Menorca, as you will arrive at your destination with a direct flight of only 45 minutes.  There are more than 150 flights a week between the islands, so you won’t have any problems with timetables. Prices vary greatly depending on the airline, but you can find return tickets for less than €20.

But before you get on the plane, you’ll need to get to the airport, so here are the best ways to get to Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI):

  1. The fastest and most comfortable way to get to the airport is through Mitaxi.net. You can get to your destination from anywhere on the island of Mallorca from 45€.
  2. The second option is to take a bus. The A1 line is the one that connects the capital with the airport. There are also other lines that have direct connections to the airport, such as the A2 (S’Arenal), A11 (Camp de Mar-Magaluf), A32 (Can Picafort-Alcúdia), A42 (Cala Bona) and A52 (Campos).

Once you arrive at Menorca Airport (MAH), you can take a taxi to any town on the island.

By ferry

If you can’t find cheap flights or you prefer to take your car with you, you can also get from Mallorca to Menorca by ferry. The duration of the journey varies a lot, as it depends on the ports of origin and destination you choose and the type of ferry you are travelling on. Journey times can vary between 1.5 and 6 hours.

The fastest route is between the port of Alcudia and Ciutadella. Tickets cost around €50 and the frequency of trips between the two ports is 4-5 per day. You can get to the port in two ways:
