Purple Weekend is a music festival dedicated to the sixtie culture that takes place in León, Spain. It was created by Elena Iglesias and Alejandro Díez (artists of the band Los Flechazos) in the late 80s. It has grown over the years to become one of the main international events of the genre.

The festival was born with the idea of delving into the mod movement (which originated in the UK between the late 50s and mid-60s). The Purple Weekend lasts 4 days and features several renowned artists linked to mod culture, mainly Spanish and British.

It is not only a music festival, but also offers other activities such as the Scooter Run, conferences, exhibitions, street markets, fashion shows, etc.

The 2022 festival will take place at Palacio de exposiciones de León, which is located on Calle Gómez Salazar, near the train station.

The other cultural events will take place at Palacín, which is right next to Palacio de exposiciones.

The 33rd edition of the Purple Weekend will take place between the 8th and 11th December.

You can buy tickets online through various outlets (such as Wegow or Marcaentradas). There are two types of tickets:

  • Day ticket: With this ticket you can access one day of the festival. On Thursday and Friday it costs 30 euros online and 35 euros at the box office, and on Saturday, 40 euros online and 45 euros at the box office.
  • Season ticket: With this pass you can attend all the concerts of the festival. It costs 70 euros online and 79 euros at the box office.
